If you have a discrimination claim, you may be able to claim compensation for injury to your feelings. The award bands for these claims have recently been updated by the Employment Tribunals of England and Wales.
Factors such as the vulnerability of the employee, the seriousness of the behaviour and position of the individual found to be discriminating will be taken into account when assessing the award for injury to feelings.
These updated bands will impact claims presented to Tribunal on or after 6th April 2022.
|Less serious cases where the discriminatory act is a one-off.
|£900 to £9,900
|Cases which are more serious but where the upper band would not be appropriate.
|£9,900 to £29,600
|The most serious cases, where there has been a lengthy campaign of discriminatory harassment which has had a profound effect on the individual.
|£29,699 to £49,300
